Garden waste collection service set to resume

Uttlesford District Council is pleased to announce that its garden waste service will restart from next week (beginning 20 April).

There has been a short break in the garden waste collections which was necessary to ensure the health of the public and staff, and so that the teams could prioritise the remainder of the waste and recycling service.

Thanks to the hard work of the crews and the waste management team, the council is now in a position to reinstate collections.

The service will start by collecting bins on the ‘North’ collection round from week beginning 20 April; the following week will be the ‘South’ collection round. Subscribers will have received a letter in February letting them know which collection week they are in but the 2020/21 calendar can also be viewed here: https://tinyurl.com/udcgardenwaste.

For those who have already paid for the 2020/21 service, collections will restart immediately. For those who have not yet made payment, they will need to do so for the collections to restart.

Payment can be made online via www.uttlesford.gov.uk/pay-for-garden-waste or by calling the Customer Service Centre on 01799 510510.

Due to the situation, a few garden waste collections were missed at the end of March. The council will extend people’s subscription automatically to cover the time the service was not running to ensure they get a full 12 months of collections for the annual payment.

Residents are advised not to put additional garden waste out for collection as the crews will not be able to take it.
